<해녀노젓는소리> 사설의 교섭양상 = Aspect of connection in the accounts of <Women Divers’ Rowing Songs>

This study aims to examine the aspect of how the accounts of work songs, play songs and ritual songs are connected to the accounts of <Women Divers’ Rowing Songs>. In summary, discussion on the aspect of connection in the accounts of <Women Divers’ Rowing Songs> is as follows.
<Women Divers’ Rowing Songs> and <Milling Songs> were sung by borrowing the accounts of each other. The cause with which this aspect of connection occurred is not irrelevant to the living environment and trade of women divers in Jeju-do. Most of women divers in Jeju-do are engaged in farming in addition to diving. Almost every one of them does farming and diving at the same time. It is very rare for them to be solely engaged in diving. Since women divers of Jeju-do were engaged in both farming and diving, it is assumed that they sang accounts of folk songs they knew without making distinction between song types.
<Women Divers’ Rowing Songs> borrowed the accounts of ritual songs and, mainly of play songs. It was confirmed that the singers of <Women Divers’ Rowing Songs> borrowed accounts with the contents they preferred, heard of or familiar with among the accounts of play songs. The subject matters of the borrowed accounts were mainly transience of life, disclosure, lamentation of circumstances, love and hatred, parting and yearning, etc.
Women divers who resided in Jeju-do with experiences of diving in the mainland or those who moved to and settled in the mainland were surrounded by the environment in which they could experience play songs widely sung in Jeju-do. Also, it is assumed that exchange with mainlanders by women divers in the course of leaving home to dive in the east, west and south coasts of the mainland or collectively moving to, settling in and adjusting themselves to the mainland was also an opportunity for them to experience play songs widely sung in the mainland.
