For the purpose of the assessment of the effects of dentin-acid-etching and composite resin restoration on the pulp, the cavities were formed on the teeth of the adult dogs. The specimens were classified by the presence of base on the cavities, and filled the composite resin in those cavity. And the response of pulp tissue was ovserved.
The following results were obtained,
1. No specific differences but, mild response of pulp tissue was seen in experimental group and control group after 3 days, whether acid treated and the base applied or not.
2. No inflammatory teaction of pulp tissue was observed in both acid-treated dentin and non-acid-treated group, after 2 weeks and 4 weeks.
3. No specific dirrerences in the degree of pulp tissue response observed between the base-applied group and non-base applied group.
4. No specific differences in the degree of pulp tissue response observed between ??applied(filling) group and zinc-oxide-eugenol cenment-filling group, after 2 weeks and 4 weeks.
