청소년 독자들의 독서 태도에 영향을 주는 요인에 관한 연구: 청소년 독자들이 말하는 책 읽기 `좋고 싫음`의 이유를 바탕으로 = Exploring Factors Affecting Adolescent Readers` Reading Attitude: Based on Reasons Adolescent Readers Explained Why They Like or Dislike Reading

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to identify factors affecting adolescent readers’ reading attitude. For this purpose, a survey research was conducted targeting 491 students from the grade 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th. 424 survey data were selected for final analysis. Results from the quantitative analysis showed that most of the adolescent readers participated in this study demonstrated positive attitude toward reading, but many of them were ‘instituted’ positive attitudes, which showed a hidden side of the “positive” reading attitude. According to findings from qualitative analysis, main factors affecting adolescent readers’ reading attitudes were categorized as follows: 1) reader interest(50.8%), 2) cognitive benefit(11.8%), 3) engaged reading(10.2%) and 4) affective benefit(8.3%). Besides, “indirect experience”, “killing time”, “lack of reading time”, “reading habit/reading amount”, “book length” and “reading proficiency” were also found to be affecting factors. Finally, research comments and implications were provided for researchers, teachers and parents for further research and better support for adolescent readers.
