This study aims to find an effective way to manage job stress according to each teacher's personality type by examining the relationship between the five-factor personality characteristics and the job stress level and coping method of public kindergarten teachers. In addition, the conceptual repetitive research methodology was adopted to verify the reliability and generalizability of the results of this study through comparison with previous studies. The research problems set up to achieve this research purpose are as follows. 1.What is the relationship between the five-factor personality characteristics and job stress level of public kindergarten teachers through conceptual repetitive research? 2.What is the relationship between the five-factor personality characteristics of public kindergarten teachers and job stress coping methods- 75 through conceptual repetitive research? This study conducted an online survey of 338 public kindergarten teachers in Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, and the collected data were analyzed through descriptive statistical analysis, Pearson correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. As a result of the study, first, it was confirmed that neurosis and affinity had a significant effect on the level of job stress of public kindergarten teachers. Specifically, the higher the level of neurosis, the higher the level of job stress, and the higher the level of affinity, the lower the job stress, the negative effect was confirmed. By sub-factor, neurosis had a positive effect on a wide range of stress factors such as early childhood management, class management, and bureaucratic management stress, and affinity negatively affected a number of stress factors such as bureaucratic management, loss of authority, low treatment, and class management, playing an important role in relieving stress. Second, the influence of the five-factor personality traits on the job stress coping method differed by personality type. Positive personality traits such as
extroversion, openness, affinity, and sincerity had a positive effect on not only active coping methods such as problem-based coping and social support, but also passive coping methods such as emotional relief coping and desired thinking. This suggests that positive teachers are not limited to a specific method when faced with a stress situation, but use various coping strategies flexibly. On the other hand, neurosis negatively affected all types of coping methods, unlike the results of previous studies. This means that teachers in public kindergartens with high levels of neurosis are overwhelmed by stress situations and tend to suppress or endure negative emotions without using not only active but also emotional easing. As a result, it means that the level of job stress experienced by teachers and the way they cope with job stress are different for each personality characteristic, and for this, customized stress management for each personality- 76 characteristic is necessary. In addition, considering that the research results differ from previous studies, it is difficult to verify reliability and generalization through one-time studies, so it means that continuous verification of the research results is necessary through repeated studies.* Keyword : Five-factor personality characteristics, job stress level, job stress coping method, and conceptual repetitive research * A thesis submitted in partial fulfillment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Education
