We examined the effect of sprint trained on the mice skeletal muscle and heart antioxidant defences. male mice 4weeks old, were sprint training on a treadmill for 7weeks. Total superoxide dismutase (SOD) activities, caltalase (CAT) activities, H2O2, malondialdehyde (MDA) was compared in sprint trained and control sedentary animals. Sprint trained more significantly enhanced SOD activities and CAT activities and less produced H2O2, MDA than control group in mixed gastrocnemius, soleus and heart muscle. SOD, CAT activities in oxidative soleus and heart muscle also increased in sprint trained mouse.
In conclusion, sprint trained enhanced SOD, CAT activities and less produce H2O2, MDA in skeletal muscle and heart.
