체육학에서의 질적연구 고찰: 스포츠교육학을 중심으로 = Literature Review of Qualitative Research on Physical Education

This study is performed to develop the understanding and professionalism of qualitative research and show the direction by understanding characteristics, history, philosophic background and paper structure of 6 methods of the qualitative researches(case study, ethnography, phenomenology, ground theory,narrative, life history).
For this study, from 2000 to November 2012, 151 qualitative researches out of 375 papers published in Korean Association of Sport Padagogy(KASP) were analyzed and annual publication trend and characteristics of research methodology were examined.
After examination, we found out three decisions. First, many case studies and ethnography to show cultural characteristics have constantly been used since 2000 but, most researches have been performed with short research period and a few interviews. For that reason, long-term examinations to realize routines of subjects will be required. Second, for the credibility of data, standards suggested by Lincoln and Guba(1985) have been used for 30 years as it were. Lastly, a lot of studies were performed without using appropriatemethods.
From these bases, we recommended that research methods be appropriate enough to reveal research theme, analysis of the data be examined closely and, the long-term research be performed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 질적연구의 6가지 연구방법(사례연구, 문화기술지, 현상학, 근거이론, 내러티브, 생애사)에 따른 각각의 특징 및 역사, 철학적 배경, 연구 논문의 구조 등을 바탕으로 체육학 영역에서 이루어진 질적연구에 대해 이해하고 연구의 방향성을 제시하기 위한 목적으로 수행되었다.
이를 위해 2000년부터 2014년 9월까지 한국스포츠교육학회지에 발표된 419편의 논문중 168편의 질적연구논문을 분석하여 연도별 발표 경향 및 연구 방법별 특징을 고찰하였다.
연구 결과 첫째, 사례 및 문화적 특징을 밝히고자 하는 사례 연구와 문화기술지가 2000년대 들어서 꾸준히 연구 방법으로 사용되고 있었다. 그러나 많은 연구들이 짧은 연구 기간과 적은 면담을 통해 수행되어져서 추후 연구 참여자(현상)의 일상을 파악할 수 있는 장기간의 관찰을 통한 연구가 요청된다. 둘째, 연구 주제를 드러내기에 가장 적합한 연구방법을 사용해야 함에도 연구방법의 형식에 따라 수행되어진 연구들이 다수 존재하였다. 질적연구를 수행함에 있어 연구의 목적에 부합하는 올바른 연구방법을 선택하기 위해서는 우선적으로 각 연구방법의 특징을 명확하게 이해하고자 하는 연구자의 노력이 요청된다. 마지막으로 해석학적 관점의 연구들이 다양하게 시도되고 있었다. 이러한 관점은 체육현상을 이해하고 탐구하는데 보다 폭넓은 관점을 제공해 줄 수 있는 특징 때문인 것으로 생각해 볼 수 있다.
기존의 협소했던 연구방법을 극복하고 새로운 연구 패러다임을 구성한다면 체육현상을 설명할 때 다각적 측면에서 유용하게 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
