한국장로교에서의 도덕발달과 신앙성숙의 관계연구 = THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN MORAL DEVELOPMENT AND FAITH MATURITY IN THE KOREAN PREBYTERIAN CHURCH TRADITION

This study was designed to investigate and analyze the relationship, if any, between moral development and Christian faith maturity in adulthood among members of the Korean Presbyterian churches. Three conservative Presbyterian churches that have a good reputation for discipleship training were selected.
Using the DIT developed by James Rest and Faith Maturity Scale developed by Peter Benson et al., 227 surveys were collected. This data was primarily used to compare the relationship between moral development and faith maturity. Subsequently, this data was gathered to find out what factor among demographic factors was the strongest for determining moral development and faith maturity.
The relationship between moral development and Christian faith maturity was described and quantified from the survey responses and statistical analyses were conducted using the two data pools to determine the characteristic and the extent of significant relationships.
The methodological design was a descriptive quantitative research. This study used an analysis of covariance and simple linear regression method that allowed the study not only to discover whether a relationship exists but also to determine the degree of the relationship of the variables.
The research showed that no relationship existed between moral development and Christian faith maturity among selected adult members of Korean conservative Presbyterian churches. The strongest factor for determining moral development was educational attainment. The strongest factor for determining Christian faith maturity also was educational achievement. The second strongest factor for shaping Christian faith maturity was gender.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 한국 장로교회 성인 교인 중 도덕 발달과 기독교 신앙 성숙과의 어떤 관계가 있는지를 조사하고 분석하려고 의도되었다. 제자 훈련에 명성이 있는 세 곳의 보수 장로교회를 선정하였다.
J 제임스 레스트에 의하여 기안된 DIT를 사용하고 피터 벤슨과 다른 이들이 함께 고안한 신앙성숙도를 사용하여 227개의 설문지가 수집되었다. 이 데이터는 우선적으로 도덕발달과 신앙성숙의 관계를 비교하기 위하여 사용되었다. 후속적으로 이 데이터는 도덕발달과 신앙성숙을 결정하는데 어떤 인구통계학의 요소가 도덕발달과 신앙성숙을 결정하는 데에 있어서 가장 강력한 것인지를 발견하도록 수거되었다.
도덕발달과 기독교 신앙성숙의 관계는 설문지 응답으로부터 서술되고 그 정도를 나타내었다. 통계학적 분석은 2개의 데이터를 사용하여 중요한 관계의 성격과 정도를 결정하도록 시도되었다.
방법론적 디자인은 서술적 물량적 연구이다. 이 연구는 ancova와 simple linear regression을 사용하였다. 이 방법들은 단순히 관계가 존재하는 가의 여부만이 아니라 변수의 관계의 정도를 결정하는 것을 발견하도록 하였다.
이 연구는 한국 보수 장로교회에서 선정된 성인 교인들에게 있어서 도덕발달과 기독교 신앙성숙에 어떤 관계가 없다는 것을 보여주었다. 도덕발달을 결정하는데 있어서 가장 강력한 요소는 공적 교육을 받은 정도의 여부이었다. 기독교 신앙성숙을 결정하는데 있어서 가장 강력한 요소 역시 공적 교육을 받은 정도의 여부이었다. 기독교 신앙성숙을 형성하는데 있어서 두 번째로 영향이 있는 것은 성별이었다.
