부모의 사회ㆍ경제적 지위에 따른 사교육의 실태 및 학업성적과의 관계

The main objectives of this paper are to investigate the Relations Between private education of high school students according to parents' Socio-Economic status and to study how this difference ultimately affects their academic achievement.
The number of subjects for the survey of this study was 420 students drawn from the second grade of high school in Changwon.
The main results of the data analysis can be summarized as follows:
(1) The higher the parents' Socio-Economic status is, the higher the proportion of students is who receive the private education.
(2) The higher the parents' Socio-Economic status is, the more their expenses for the private education is.
(3) When it comes to the pattern of the private education, it seems the parents' Socio-Economic status don't have a strong relationship to it. On the other hands, the result of the analysis shows that the parents' educational backgrounds have an effect on it.
(4) There is no correlation between the parents' Socio-Economic status and the subjects of the private education.
(5) The analysis for the academic achievement of students, who are in more than 4th rank in the stain-nine system of the school record, shows that the proportion of students who receive the private education is relatively higher than that of students who don't receive the private education.
(6) After taking everything into consideration, I reached this conclusion. The parents' Socio-Economic status influence both the private education of their children and its expense. And the private education affects students' academic achievement. Thus it turns out parents' Socio-Economic status have a significant influence on students' academic achievement.
