한국 청소년의 자민족중심주의와국내전입 외국인집단별 수용의 관계 = The relations of Korean adolescents' ethnocentrismto acceptance of other ethnic groups

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study aimed to explore the effects of Korean adolescents' ethnocentrism on their acceptance of other ethnic groups including Whites, Blacks, Chinese, Japanese, South-east Asians, Middle-east Asians living in Korea. What was especially interested in the study was to test whether the effects of ethnocentrism on the acceptance of other ethnic group are consistent for six different ethnic groups. 586 middle and high school students participated in the survey. A series of hierarchical multiple regression analyses were used to identify the unique effects of ethnocentrism on the acceptance of other ethnic groups, controlling the affects of participants' demographic variables such as sex, school, and location of residence. Korean adolescents' ethnocentrism was negatively associated with their levels of acceptance of other ethnic groups consistently. The effect sizes of ethnocentrism, however, were varied by different ethnic groups. All these findings was discussed in terms of multi- cultural education approaches to adopt Korean adolescents to a diverse and pluralistic society where they should get along with different ethnic groups in the future.
