The 7th national curriculum aims at creating education of student level and self-directed learning environment. Therefore, textbooks should be composed of easy and interesting materials which provide learners with independent thinking, support their learning activities and enhance the quality of creativity and inquiry. Using Romey`s textbook analysis method, this article evaluates if textbooks are inquiry-oriented, contents of curriculum are substantial, research activities and examples for basic concepts are appropriate, explanation for concept and theory is valid, and sentences are grammatical or consistent. According to the analysis of six kinds of textbooks in the 7th curriculum, they can encourage students` creativity and inquiry by providing meaningful situation for learners and diverse collaborative environments with peers. Also, students can be exposed to various kinds of materials and research activities closely related to the subjects of each chapter. But some problems are found that a few textbooks don`s fully reflect the contents of curiculum and research activities are somewhat irrelevant to their subjects along with some ambiguous contests.
