AbstractIn spite of the radical development and prevalence of the multimedia technology, humans
are having difficulties in adapting themselves to the new environment. This may be, in
part, due to the lack of fundamental understanding of the cognitive, social, and emotional
characteristics in the cyberspace. This study examined the changes of language use,
communication style, decision making and education by the
Computer-Mediated-Communication(CMC) in the cyberspace. The role of cyberspace as
a future educational medium and a new paradigm for learning and cognition were also
discussed.
