In Kores, Rural population has been decreased rapidly in the latter half of the nineteen-sixties. Generally speaking', The number of rural population has been decre-ased absolutely since 1966 in Korea, whereas farm household has show a tendeney in diminishing slowly since 1968.
What'Ⅱ be the consequence upon the agricultural products effected by the off-farm migration? We need abviously to analyze the proceeding of the off-farm migration in the rural area of Korea for researching this problems.
In general principles of Economics, The outward migration of rural farm poulat-ion can be acccpted as desirable phenomenon. Because the whole social productivity is able to increase by way to absorbing the low productivity labour force in agricultu-ral scctors into the high productivity labour force in industrial sectors.
In fact, If the results by migration of rural population could give an influesnce like these trendes, the rewould be nothing to be desrable. However, some problems seem to come into existence by the fact that the present background doesn't march with it.
In the latter half of the nineteen-sixties, The factors of the outmigration in rural area of Korea was analyzed as follow;
(1) The movement was not occured in order to removing from the low la bour productivity in rural area to the high labour productivity in non-agricultural aspects because of agricutural stagnation.
(2) The main factors depend upon simple economic poverty, and many other fact-ors also were caused by social impulsion.
(3) The greater part of leaving farms has occured remarkably among the class of small scale farms or low income farms.
(4) It was revealed that most of youth group in the rural tend to avoid farming work and to find other jobs because of their inferiority complex with agriculture. Most of them refuse to engage in agriculture even if in the unemployment status.
The results obtained from this analysis were summarized as follows;
(1) The effects of leaving farms caused by the social psychological moment and economic poverty has been weaked to impulse the improvement in the Structure of agriculture, otherwise, it prefer to bring about to unbalance bet ween the agricultural production resources and the agricultural labour population.
(2) The out-flow of the young and educated from the rural area was not able to bring the diminution of number of farm household and the increase of scale of the cultivated land per farm houshold, while it was forced to be trensfered into the unbearable mechanization of farm management by increased wages.
(3) The destination of most of them who leave from farms is the large large cities at a long distance. Thus it can not be helped to cumulate the agricultural capital by the income from non-farm working. The other way, it seems to be outflowed from the rural area to the other.
As a conclusion.
The out-flow of agricultural population resulted in;
1) that the improement in the structure of agricultural production has not been fulfilled.
2) that it was insufficient to be become an initiative for readjusting the agricult-ural production resources.
3) that the unbalance between the rural and the urban, the agriculture and the industry was encourabed.
