미국 학교 음악교육에서 생활화 관련 내용의 변천 = Changes of Teaching Contents in American School Music Education Related to Applying Music to Daily Life

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 미국의 학교 음악교육에서 생활화가 어떻게 다루어져 왔으며 그 위상은 어떠한지를 추적하고자 한다. 미국 학교 음악교육의 태동 단계에서부터 음악이 사회 및 개인 삶에 주는 실용적 효과는 음악교과의 당위성 형성에 중심적 역할을 수행해 왔다. 그러나 미국의 음악교과에서 생활화 관련 사항은 적극적 조명을 받지 못한 것으로 여겨진다. 1994년의 국가수준 음악교육 표준안 및 2014년 음악 표준안은 음악의 생활화와 관련된 지표를 일부 포함하고 있으나 그 실제적 비중은 크지 않다. 미국 학교 음악교육에서 음악 활용 및 향유 태도의 육성을 위한 생활화의 내용은 전반적으로 음악 지식 및 기능 학습에 묶여 있는 경향을 보여준다.
