미충족 서비스 욕구가 정신장애인의 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향 : 정신장애인 회복 서비스를 위한 정책 및 실천적 함의 = How Unmet Service Needs Affect Life Satisfaction for Individuals with Psychiatric Disabilities : Policy and Practice Implications for Recovery Services

국문 초록 (Abstract)

인간은 생존욕구부터 자아실현 욕구에 이르기까지 다양한 스펙트럼의 욕구를 가지고 있다. 욕구의 위계적 특성 때문에 충족되지 않은 욕구는 삶의 만족도에 부정적인 영향을 미친다. 몇몇 선행연구들이 미충족 복지서비스가 인간 삶의 만족도에 미치는 영향에 관해 살펴보았지만, 아직까지 정신장애인의 미충족 욕구와 삶의 만족도의 관계에 대해서는 연구된 바가 많지 않다. 따라서 본 연구는 정신장애인을 대상으로 (1) 복지서비스 미충족 욕구 수준에 대한 인식과 (2) 정신장애인의 미충족 욕구 인식이 그들의 생활만족도에 미치는 영향이 어떠한지를 살펴본다. 연구 목적을 해결하기 위해, 정신 장애를 가진 607명의 데이터에 대한 다중 회귀 분석을 수행하였다. 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. (1) 각 미충족 욕구에 대한 개별 모델은 각 미충족 욕구(생존욕구부터 자아실현 욕구까지)가 삶의 만족도와 부정적으로 연관되어 있음을 보여준다. (2) 통합모델은 충족되지 않은 고용의 필요성이 삶의 만족도를 가장 강하게 예측한 것으로 나타나 개인의 삶을 풍요롭게 하는 중요한 직업임을 나타낸다. 이 결과를 바탕으로 정신과 서비스 소비자의 삶의 질 향상을 위한 회복서비스에 대한 시사점을 논의한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Human beings have various needs ranging from survival to self-actualization. In this context, unmet needs can negatively affect life satisfaction. Although a few previous studies have examined how unmet welfare services needs affect life satisfaction, very little is known about the relationships between unmet needs and life satisfaction among individuals with psychiatric disabilities. Thus, the objectives of this study were: (1) to examine perceptions of unmet needs related to welfare services; and (2) to determine effects of unmet welfare services needs on life satisfaction among individuals with psychiatric disabilities. To address these research purposes, we conducted multiple regression analyses for data from 607 individuals with psychiatric disabilities. Key findings were as follows: (1) separate models indicated that each unmet need (ranging from survival to self-actualization) was negatively associated with life satisfaction; (2) the integrative model showed that the unmet need for employment was the strongest predictor of life satisfaction, indicating the importance job to enrich lives of individuals with psychiatric disabilities. Based on results of this study, implications for recovery services are discussed to enhance the quality of lives of psychiatric service consumers.
