도농지역 캠퍼스타운을 위한 컨테이너 거점시설 조성 연구 : 홍익대학교 세종캠퍼스를 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

조치원읍 신안1리 지역은 세종특별자치시의 행정구역으로 홍익대학교 캠퍼스와 인접해 있다. 최근 세종시 조치원읍의 도시재생사업인 청춘 조치원 프로젝트의 연장선에서 홍익대학교 세종캠퍼스와 고려대학교 세종캠퍼스 사이에 위치한 신안1리에 캠퍼스타운 조성이 논의되고 있다. 본 연구는 주민들과 학생들의 의견을 수렴하여 캠퍼스타운에 맞는 지역사회 교류의 장으로 컨테이너를 이용한 마을 거점시설을 조성하는 연구 방안을 제시한다. 마을이나 지역사회의 커뮤니티 시설을 구축할 때 가장 중요한 것이 주민들의 적극적인 협력과 참여다. 이에 본 연구에서는 학생들과 주민들을 대상으로 설문과 인터뷰 결과를 반영하여 거점시설의 위치와 용도를 선정하고 주민과 학생이 공유할 수 있도록 스마트한 컨테이너 거점시설 에 대한 연구방안을 제시한다.
신안1리 주민들 중 다수는 홍익대학교 세종캠퍼스 학생을 대상으로 원룸임대업이나 식당 등의 상업을 하고 있다. 학교 주변은 먹을거리나 유흥점이 거의 대부분인 문화적, 예술적으로 고립된 지역이라고 할 수 있다. 그러한 이유로 신안1리 지역은 학생들 대부분이 재학 중에만 잠시 머무는 곳이기도 하다.
본 연구의 설문과 인터뷰 결과를 보면, 신안1리는 인근 원룸에 거주하는 학생들과 주민들 간의 교류가 거의 없는 상태이다. 주민들은 홍익대학교 학생들의 재능기부와 마을행사 참여를 원하고 있으나 학생들은 지역사회 커뮤니티 참여에 대한 필요성을 느끼지 못하고 있다.
그동안 홍익대학교 세종캠퍼스 인근지역인 신안1리를 대상으로 주민과 학생들의 커뮤니티공간에 대한 선행연구는 이루어진 바 없으며, 이러한 연구의 공백을 채우기 위하여 본 연구는 세종시 조치원읍 신안1리를 중심으로 주민과 학생들에게 각각 설문과 인터뷰를 진행하고, 의견을 조합하여 앞으로 캠퍼스타운이 성공적으로 형성될 수 있도록 기여하고자 한다. 컨테이너를 활용한 거점시설은 주민들과 학생들의 만남의 공간을 제공하는 시작점에 있어서 그 의의를 찾을 수 있다. 본 연구는 대학과 지역사회가 공유할 수 있는 거점시설 조성방안을 제시하여 도농지역 캠퍼스타운 활성화 논의에 기여하고자 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

As part of Youth Jochiwon Project, which is a urban regeneration project in Jochiwon, Sejong City, a campus town that connects Hongik University and Shinan-ri has recently become financially viable. This project aims to establish a ‘local base camp’ where residents and students can interact with each other.
This study is to propose a community center for residents and students using sustainable architecture containers. The purpose is to contribute to urban regeneration efforts.
In order for a campus town to be created, it is important to have a sense of community with active cooperation from residents. Hence, this study focuses on the role of Hongik University students in creating a campus town. By sharing the results with residents, this study ultimately aims to encourage encounters and interactions between local community and university students.
Jochiwon-eup Shinan-ri is an administrative district of Sejong City adjacent to Hongik University, Sejong Campus. Many Shinan-ri's residents cater to students by operating commercial businesses, such as studio rentals and restaurants. The area around Hongik University Sejong Campus is physically isolated from central Jochiwon with minimal provision of culture and art amenities. Most students stay only briefly during semester and leave upon graduation, never to return. Until now, the interaction between students and residents can be characterized as being business-based with almost no sense of shared community.
Results of surveys and interviews conducted in this study show that residents want Hongik University students to participate in various village events as well as donate their talents to the local community. Students, on the other hand, have little interest and do not feel any need to do so.
There are no studies on community spaces for residents and students in Shinan-ri and Hongik University. To fill this gap, this study aims to contribute to the ongoing discussion about creating a successful campus town by giving voice to local residents and students.
