우리나라 자기주식 제도의 현황과 연구과제 = Recent Status and Issues of Stock Repurchase System in Korea

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 기업 이익 배당의 또 다른 배분 수단으로 도입, 근래에 정착되고 있는 우리나라 상장기업의 자기주식 취득과 보유에 관한 제도에 대해서 그 내용, 현황 및 보유동기를 살펴보았다. 그리고 자기주식 보유에 관한 이론 및 검증 개황을 정리, 소개함과 아울러 이에 대한 몇 가지 보완적 논점을 비판적으로 정리하였다. 아울러, 실무에서 자기주식의 취득과 보유를 결정하는 기업 환경 및 경영 요인들, 즉 사전적 재무전략변수들을 규명하기 위한 보완적 연구 과제를 토의, 제시하였다. 또한, 이 과정에서 자기주식의 취득과 처분이라는 새로운 재무전략수단이 코스닥기업이나 비교적 중소규모의 전자상거래업체에서도 동일한 재무전략대안으로서 활성화될 수 있는 지에 대해서도 병행하여 점검하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This paper examines regulations, motives and recent status of the treasury stock system which has been settled in recent years as an additional vehicle of distributing the earnings of listed companies in Korea. The paper also surveys and introduces main stream of theories and their test results in terms of the acquisition and retention of treasury stock. In addition, it suggests some future research tasks in order to promote utilization of the treasury stock system, that is, a new additional financial strategic alternative which could enchants companies to stock repurchase. It also comments on whether the financial strategic alternative has advantages as such to the relatively small businesses among the listed companies in the KOSDAQ market and the e-commerce transaction industry in Korea.
