어머니가 인식한 아동의 개인 사회적 발달이론과 아동의 사회적 능력 간의 관계 = The Relation between a Mother's Perceptions About Her Child's Social-Personal Development and Social Competence in Preschool setting

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship between the mother`s perceptions about her child`s social-personal development and the child`s social competence in a preschool setting. The subjects were 121 mothers with preschool children aged five. The data was gathered using the Parent Questionnaire about Children`s Personal Social Development and the California Preschool Social Competency Scale and were analyzed by two-way analysis of variance and Pearson`s correlation coefficient. The results showed that the mother`s perceptions regarding the social personal development of her child differed depending on the child`s gender in that mothers of girls tended to endorse constructivist views and social learning views in child development more than the mothers of boys. Also there was significant correlation between maternal perceptions in the child`s development and social competence in preschool settings.
