유아기 발달을 위한 유아용 애니메이션의 적합성 연구 = Study of appropriateness of the preschool animation for the development in the preschool period

Preschoolers are in the process of physical, intellectual, emotional and social development. The development in the preschool period is most wide ranged and important in the entire development stages throughout the life a human. Therefore, experiencing the image media that can assist and consider their development and suggest a right direction of life is very important.
Since the preschool animation is produced for the preschooler with sensitive sensibility, strong imitation instinct and active learning ability, it requires careful consideration to the details. Moreover, the preschooler should be protected from harmful affects and the right to be provided and enjoy the programs for their sensibility and inquiries should be ensured.
The objective of this study is to understand the development in the preschool period, prove that the preschool animation is the tool with positive potential for providing healthy entertainment and education as well as artistic and cultural experiences and study the elements that should be taken into consideration in producing preschool animation based on this.
Also, by creating <Evaluation and Analysis Frame for Appropriateness of the Preschool Animation>, it is objected to be an effective guide in production of preschool animation and prepare the correct selection guide in choosing the preschool animation at home and education institutions. Also, by using the analysis frame consisted of the entertainment, emotional and educational aspect and element of appropriateness, the appropriateness of the existing preschool animation is evaluated and analyzed of its problems to suggest the direction in the future.
If you look at the analysis result of from this study, when the preschool animation is inclined to the aspect of entertainment, the risk factor or violence might increase and there was a trend of losing the reflection of educational contents. Whereas, by inclining to the educational contents, it might be appropriate to the preschool period; however, it might be negligence to the entertainment and emotional aspect which is the element of giving pleasure and stimulation.
However, not all programs with high entertainment value have low appropriateness. Generally, the episode with higher appropriateness had high evaluations in the aspect of entertainment, emotion and education. This signifies that it is possible to produce a high quality animation in all the aspect of entertainment, emotion and education through the production techniques and contents excluding the inappropriate elements such as the violence, language and prejudice in the preschool animation.
Therefore, to receive a good evaluation to the appropriateness of the preschool animation, it should be enhanced of the harmony between entertainment, emotional and educational aspects and from their, the appropriateness of the preschool period should be review thoroughly. Furthermore, from planning to production, by comprehending the advices and researches of the professionals in various areas, the contents should be selected and reflected on the production based on this.
Therefore, the personnel that are engaged in the production of preschool animation should have deep understanding on the characteristics of the preschool period and recognize the importance of the influence of the preschool animation. They should also consider the appropriateness before the entertainment oriented content availed from the temporary avarice. It is required to have responsibilities with social and conscious attitude to develop a program that can enhance the educational values of the animation.

유아들은 신체적, 지적, 정서적, 사회적으로 성장하는 과정에 있으며, 유아기의 발달은 인간의 전 생애의 발달 중 가장 광범위하고 중요하다. 따라서 유아기에 그들의 발달을 돕고 배려하며, 올바른 삶의 방향을 제시할 수 있는 영상매체를 경험하는 것은 아주 중요하다.
유아용 애니메이션은 감수성이 예민하고 모방성이 강하며 활발하게 배우는 능력을 지닌 유아를 대상으로 제작하는 것이기 때문에 세밀한 부분까지 세심한 배려가 필요하다. 또한, 유아들은 해로운 영향으로부터 보호되어야 하며, 그들의 감수성과 요구에 맞는 프로그램을 제공받고 누릴 권리 또한 보장되어야 한다.
본 논문에서는 유아기의 발달을 이해하고, 유아용 애니메이션이 건전한 오락과 교육, 그리고 예술적, 문화적 경험을 제공해줄 수 있는 긍정적인 잠재력을 가진 도구임을 밝히며, 이를 바탕으로 유아용 애니메이션의 제작 시 고려해야 할 사항을 고찰하고자 한다.
또한, 〈유아용 애니메이션의 적합성 평가 분석틀〉을 제작하여, 유아용 애니메이션의 제작 시에 효과적인 지침이 되고, 가정이나 교육기관에서 유아용 애니메이션을 선정할 때 올바른 선정기준을 마련하려는데 그 목적이 있다. 그리고 오락, 정서, 교육적 측면과 적절성의 요소로 구성된 분석틀을 활용하여 기존의 유아용 애니메이션의 적합성을 평가하고, 그 문제점을 분석하여 앞으로 나아갈 방향을 제시하고자 한다.
본 연구에서의 분석 결과를 보면, 유아용 애니메이션이 오락적인 측면에 치우칠수록 위험요소나 폭력성이 증가할 수 있으며, 교육적인 내용의 반영을 놓치는 경향이 있음을 알 수 있었고, 교육적인 측면에만 너무 치우쳐도 유아기의 적절성에는 좋지만, 유아에게 중요한 즐거움과 자극을 주는 요소인 오락과 정서적인 측면에 소홀해 질 수 있다는 결과가 나왔다.
그러나 오락성이 높은 작품의 적절성이 낮은 것만은 아니었고, 전체적으로 적절성이 높은 에피소드에서 오히려 오락과 정서, 교육적 측면의 평가가 높은 경우가 많았는데, 이것은 유아용 애니메이션에서 폭력이나 언어, 편견 등 비적절한 요소들을 배제하면서도, 그 내용과 연출기법을 통하여 오락과 정서, 교육 등 모든 측면에서 우수한 애니메이션을 제작할 수 있다는 것이다.
따라서 유아용 애니메이션의 적합성에 좋은 평가를 받으려면 오락과 정서와 교육적인 측면을 조화롭게 최대한 높일 수 있도록 하고, 그 안에서 유아기의 적절성을 철저히 점검해야 할 것이다. 또한, 기획과 제작 시부터 각계각층 전문가들이 내놓은 조언들과 연구를 종합하여, 이를 바탕으로 내용을 선정하고, 제작으로 반영해야 할 것이다.
그러므로 유아용 애니메이션 제작에 종사하는 관계자들은 유아기 특성에 대한 깊은 이해와 유아용 애니메이션이 유아기에 미치는 영향의 중요성을 철저히 인식하고, 일시적인 과욕으로 편승된 오락위주의 내용보다 적절성을 고려하며, 정서적, 교육적인 가치를 한층 더 높일 수 있는 프로그램으로 발전시키는 책임 있고, 사회적이며, 의식 있는 자세가 요구된다.
