The Characteristics of Family Law Compared with the Property LawJinsu YuneIn Korean family law textbooks, one can easily find such expressions that the relations in the family law are irational. But there is no basis f o r b e l i e v i n g t h a t the relations in the family law are more irational than the relations in the property law in the wider sense. This asertion is derived from the belief that altruistic behaviour is irational by itself. Surely, the individuals in the family law setting behave altruisticaly very often. But altruism cannot not be equated with irationality. And Rationality covers both egoistic and altruistic behaviours.
