In order to evaluate the personal exposure dose of the radiation workers of the interventional radiology, the present situation of radiation workers was grasped to help of a learned society regarding domestic interventional radiology. The measurement results of personal exposure dose of these radiation workers which the five personal dosimetry services reported to NDR from 2008 until 2012 were analyzed to a type of the occupation, age, sex, and medical institutions. Also, personal exposure dose trend of radiation workers was analyzed for five years. As a result, The number of radiation workers continuously increased every year from 569 people in 2008 to 715 people in 2012(569 people in 2008, 595 people in 2009, 633 people in 2010, 672 people in 2011; 715 people in 2012). And the personal exposure dose of the radiation workers increased until 2010 from 1.12 mSv in 2008 to 1.26 mSv in 2010 and decreased again to 1.06 mSv in 2012(2008; 1.12 mSv, 2009; 1.23 mSv, 2010; 1.26 mSv, 2011; 1.15 mSv, 2012; 1.06 mSv). The annual average radiation exposure dose results of this the radiation workers of interventional radiology were high from the minimum 1.7 times to maximum 2.2 times compare with the annual average radiation exposure dose of the total radiation workers(0.67 mSv in 2008, 0.67 mSv in 2009, 0.58 mSv in 2010, 0.56 mSv in 2011, 0.48 mSv in 2012). The personal exposure dose of the radiation workers of interventional radiology was measured. The measurement period was one month, and the number of people for measurement was 85(Doctor 30 people, Radiation Technologist 28 people, nurse 28 people). As a result, the annual average exposure dose assumed with the average value is 5.15 mSv. In the results of a doctor, the annual average exposure dose assumed with the average value is 10.78 mSv. These result is about 4.8 times higher than the results of radiation technologists and about 5.3 times higher than the results of nurses. And a difference of exposure dose by installation of protection equipment was measured at a room for the interventional radiology. If the protection equipments were installed, exposure doses of radiation workers were decreased. the necessity and importance of protection were confirmed in order to decrease the exposure dose of the radiation workers of interventional radiology.
