In this study, it was intended to know that dysfunctional career thoughts , ego-resiliency and gender how affect the career maturity of high school students to help developing helpful educations and programs that can make to understand decision-making processes of high school students.
I observed differences among the dysfunctional career thoughts, ego-resiliency, and career maturity according to the gender of high school students based on previous studies of adolescents' career development.
Next, I investigated interrelations among the dysfunctional career thoughts, ego-resiliency , and career thoughts. Finally, I recognized how dysfunctional career thoughts and ego-resiliency affect to career maturity.
A study issue designed according to a purpose of this study and necessity is as follows.
Are there any differences among the dysfunctional career thoughts, ego-resiliency, and career maturity according to gender? Are there any relationships among the dysfunctional career thoughts, ego-resiliency, and career maturity? How did dysfunctional career thoughts and ego-resiliency affect on career maturity?
In this study, 701 (male 389, female: 312) students who are attending the school located at D city were selected as subjects of study. The results of the study can be summarized as follows.
First, it is appeared that female students have higher ego-resiliency and career maturity at relation of the dysfunctional career thoughts and ego-resiliency based on gender.
Second, the studies on the relationship among the dysfunctional career thoughts, ego-resiliency and career maturity showed that the more dysfunctional career thoughts they have, the lower ego-resiliency and career maturity they have in both male and female students. The higher ego-resiliency they have, the higher career maturity they have.
Third, on the studies about affecting on career maturity from dysfunctional career thoughts and ego-resiliency showed that the more dysfunctional career thoughts they have, the lower career maturity they have in both male and female students. It also was appeared that the high inner characteristic ego-resiliency they have, the higher career maturity they have. In addition, when they have a lot of dysfunctional career thoughts, they get lower career maturity, and when they possess higher external protective factors called ego-resiliency, they get a higher career maturity. However, the male students who think less dysfunctional career thoughts get the higher career maturity when the intrinsic qualities of ego resiliency increase. On the other hand, the male students who think more dysfunctional career thoughts get the lower career maturity when the intrinsic qualities of ego-resiliency increase.

Inventory is closely related with the variables and career indecision.
Because affecting the career maturity among several variables is larger impact of dysfunctional career thoughts, education programs to reduce the anxiety and to induce positive thoughts those can be seen desperately needed in the field of career guidance.
