      이 연구는 이성관계 증진을 위해 구조화된 집단상담 프로그램을 개발하여 중학생들의 이성 간 의사소통과 관계만족에 미치는 영향을 검증하는 것을 목적으로 하였다. 이에 부산에 거주하는 중학교 3학년을 대상으로 6개월 이상 교제 중인 남녀 12쌍을 선발하여 6쌍씩을 실험집단과 통제집단으로 무선 배치한 후, 프로그램 실시 전ㆍ후에 이성 간 의사소통과 관계만족도 검사를 실시하였다. 그 결과 첫째, 이성관계 증진 집단상담 프로그램에 참여한 설험집단의 피험자들이 참여하지 않은 통제집단의 피험자들보다 의사소통 접수가 크게 증진되었다. 둘째, 이성관계 증진 집단상담 프로그램에 참여한 실험집단의 피험자들이 참여하지 않은 통제집단의 피험자들보다 관계만족도 접수가 크게 증진되었다. 따라서 이성관계 증진 집단상담이 중학생들의 이성 간 의사소통과 관계 만족을 높이는 데 효과적이고 유용함을 알 수 있다.

      The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of the structured group counseling program for enhancing male-female relationship on middle school students' communication and relationship satisfaction. The research questions for this study were as following: First, was group counseling program for enhancing male-female relationship positively effective to middle school students' communication?, Second, was group counseling program for enhancing male-female relationship positively effective to middle school students' relationship satisfaction?
      The participants were 24 middle school student couples selected from a middle school in ○○ Dong, Pusan. Those students were randomly assigned to either experimental or control group. The participants of experimental group consisted of 6 couples who received group counseling for 10 sessions(10 hours) while the control group consisted of another 6 couples received no treatment except a series of tests. I received Material Communication Inventory developed by Bienyenu(1970) and translated by Kwon, Kyoung-In(1997), Marriage Satisfaction developed by Jo, Sung-Wook (1987), and translated by Kim, Eun-Ji(1996) to measure of college student couples' communication and relationship satisfaction. And I gathered the data by pre-post tests on each group.
      On the data gathered by the experimental group, I computed the mean and standard deviation with the score of communication and relationship satisfaction, and t-test to verify the differences between the means of each group. The result of conducting qualitative study showed that the program was positively effective to increasing communication. The most effective session of the program was the 8~9th sessions including role play.
      As described above, a group counseling program for enhancing male-female relationship was positively effective to increasing communication and relationship satisfaction of middle school students. So this program can be applied to many students in the middle school students and helpful to develop a variety of male-female relationship programs.
      Some suggestions are made based on results of the study, to be necessary considering details various age and dating develop level etc, to be necessary comparative study the effects of middle school who dating or no dating.
