근대 중국 여성소설에 나타난 여성 폭력 연구: 1920,30년대를 중심으로 = A Study of Violence Against Women in Modern Chinese female Novels: 1920`s-1930`s

In the article, I investigated the aspects of violence against women in modern Chinese patriarchal society appeared on the novels of the Chinese female writers in the 1920``s-30``s through feministic methodology and shows the correlation between the structure of violences and the violences itself while reviewing violent scenes in the works. The results of the investigation were as follows: The most frequently appeared violence in these Chinese prominent female writers ＇ works are early marriage, purchasing marriage and concubinage, all of which are exerted by patriarchal man. Next one is ideology of chastity which is forced to women because of the double standard for men and women. this type violence extends to secondary violence such as blame and criticism against women who failed to maintain fidelity. Sexual violence that occu from the idea that wom exist only sexual objects. The Chinese female writers comprehended the violences as the issue of social structure rather than individual one and strived to eradicate violences against women in 1920``s-30``s. In the meaning, the Chinese female writers show willingness to achieve gender equality through their works.
