「Christian liturgical song」 has been played an important role in the 「Christian community」to make the christian more sincere and faithful to the God for over 1200 years.
Among many christian liturgical songs, we are accumstomed to so many times, there is a need to know 「Gregorian Chant」 more deeply and widely through the historical background, what is more, the origin of 「Gregorian chant」is required.
So, the paper is to introduce the 「Ambrosian chant」to give the idea about the origin of 「Gregorian chant」 more widely and make 「Gregorian Chant」understood deeply.
At first, we study the historical background of 「Ambrosian chant」 to observe the influence and development of 「Ambrosian chant」 in the liturgy.
Secondly, we compare the Ambrosian liturgy with the Roma liturgy through the ass and officium, and also summarize the results of comparision, In the aspect of musical characteristics, we study the melody, mode and structure by using the examples.
Finally, we take an example 「Hallelujah」 to show and study the 「Gregorian chant」 adapting the 「Ambrosian chant」 and analyse each other.
As the summary of this paper, due to the wide understanding of the 「Christian liturgical song」, we expect the 「Korean liturgical song」.
