The aim of this study is to develop cultural class materials for Korean language education. For this purpose, suggested seven principles of cultural class materials development. 1) Material should connect the tradition and the present. 2) Material should have enough details so that it can be used in real situations. 3) Material should have systematic architecture 4) Material should have comparison point with the learner's culture 5) Material needs objective explanation 6) Material should be accompanied with experience and activity. 7) Material should have adaptability according to different user levels. On the basis of the principles, this article proposes a model of cultural class showing an actual class model as an example, which deals with Annual Customs.* 본 논문은 한국언어문화교육학회 봄 정기 학술대회(2007. 4. 28)에서 발표한 내용을 수정·보완한 것이다. 본 발표에 대한 두 분 토론자의 유익한 지적에 진심으로 감사드린다.
요즘에는 의례로서의 성격을 드러내고자 Annual Cyclic Rite, 또는 Calandaric Rituals, Seasonal and Calandaric Rituals 등으로 쓴다.
