국문 초록 (Abstract)

영호남을 중심으로 한 지역정당에 대한 정당일체감은 지방정치 발전을 저해하는 요인으로 인식되고 있다. 이러한 평가는 정당일체감이 선거참여에 영향을 미친다는 기존의 연구결과와 상반된다. 그리고 지방정치에서 지역정당에 대한 정당일체감의 정치적 영향을 경험적으로 확인한 연구는 드물다. 따라서 본 연구는 대구와 광주 주민을 대상으로 실시한 설문조사를 바탕으로 지역정당에 대한 정당일체감이 지방정치에 미치는 영향을 경험적으로 확인하였다. 연구결과 두 지역의 지역정당에 대한 일체감은 지방정치에 대한 만족도를 높이는데 기여하고 지방선거에 대한 관심과 참여에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 지방정치에서 정당 역할이 중요하며 정당 활성화를 위한 노력이 요구된다는 것을 시사한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The identification with regional party has been regarded as a serious impediment to progress in Daegu and Gwangju provinces. But this assessment conflict with earlier findings that the party identification affects the political participation. Moreover, few empirical studies verify the political influences of identification with regional party in local politics. Thus, this study aims to look into the effect of that. For analysis, this study employs survey data which was conducted targeting residents in Daegu and Gwangju in 2012. Empirical findings suggest that identification with regional party has significant influence on satisfaction with local politics. And it raises also concern about local election. These results imply that the roles of political party are important in local politics and it is required to look into ways of invigorating the political party.
