현대공예 이해교육 방향모색을 위한 ‘공예적 이해’ 의미소고 = A Study on the Meaning of "Understanding of Craft" and Groping for the Direction of Education for Understanding the Modern Craft

국문 초록 (Abstract)

공예가 지니는 실용성, 유용성, 그리고 미적 가치 추구는 시대적 생활과 밀접한 관계에 있으며 공예와 삶은 서로 유기적으로 맞물려 변화와 발전을 거듭해 왔다. 또한 현대공예는 기호로서 의미를 가지므로 ‘현대공예를 이해한다.’는 것은 확장된 다양한 관계적 의미를 통한 이해이다. 다의적인 삶과 밀착된 현대공예는 일반적인 전통공예 의미를 확장한다. 즉 현대공예는 현상적이며, 사태적인 공예에 대한 이해를 필요로 한다. ‘공예적 이해’는 급변하는 시대 변화를 이해, 해석, 읽어낼 수 있는 능동적인 이해 태도를 가질 수 있어야 한다. 실제 삶에서 ‘공예적 이해’를 추구하는 태도는 삶과 공예적 관계를 이해, 해석하여 삶에 적용하는 태도이다. 사태가 일어나고 있는 사회, 문화적 현상과 상황과 관계된 의미로서의 공예적 이해를 추구하는 것이다. 현대적 공예에 다양한 의미적 관계를 보다 관계적으로 이해함으로써 삶과 일체된 공예의 본질적인 문제이해를 도울 수 있다고 전망한다. 이러함은 삶과 공예의 특성적 관계를 이해한다면 이점은 공예교육에도 중요한 의미로 시사되어야 하고 그 필요성이 요구된다. 본 연구는 ‘공예적 이해’ 의미 소고를 통해 현대공예의 이해교육 방향을 모색하고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 공예영역 내용을 검토 분석(예: 초등 미술교과서)하여 공예교육의 문제점을 제기하고 현대공예 이해교육의 필요성과 미술 학습에서 ‘공예적 이해’ 방향을 모색하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Practicality, usability, and aesthetical value pursuit that the craft has are closely related with the life of the ages, that the craft and life have engaged each other and repeated change and evolution. Modern craft is significant as a symbol. Therefore ‘to understand modern craft’ means understanding through extended and various relational understanding. The modern craft adhered closely to the multi-meaningful life extends the meaning of traditional craft in general terms. In other words, the modern craft needs phenomenological and situational ‘understanding of craft’. The understanding of craft has an active attitude of understanding able to understand, interpret and read the rapidly changing age. It is the attitude to seek ‘the understanding of life’ in real life by the subject of life and to apply the relation between the life and the craft to the life by understanding, interpreting and seeking it. It is the meaning to seek ‘the understanding of craft’ relating to the social and cultural phenomena and affairs that are occurring. It is prospective that the more relational understanding of the various meaningful relation of the modern craft as well as the essential problem of craft can be helpful to the understanding of life. This point should be suggested in the education of art and craft and its necessity can be emphasized. This study is to grope for the direction of understanding education of the modern craft through looking over ‘the understanding of craft’ for the understanding education of the modern craft. For that, the area and content of craft in the elementary art textbook was reviewed and analyzed to present the problem of craft education. The necessity of the understanding education of modern craft and the direction of ‘understanding of craft’ in art learning were also groped for.
