인문콘텐츠와 교육사업의 접목 = Integration of Humane Contents and Education Business ChongShin University

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

If humane studies are related to define the relationship between humans themselves, human and human, and human and other world, the studies of essence and function of language of the instrumental basis of self-expression of humans, communication, and understanding of the world is the main task of humane studies. The knowledge in knowledge-based society is integrated, practical, procedural, relative, and working knowledge that is acquired and worked in daily experiences. Integrated knowledge is produced when the boundaries between studies are pushed back and it searches for the combination between knowledge. The integration in curriculum becomes the standard of justification for selecting contents of curriculum and the point, the logical association with other contents as for its organization.
In that way, Chinese Characters for Thinking Power is important contents in education market for the lower graders. Considering the advantage of Chinese characters which could contribute to improvement in thinking power, first, there is ability of direct quickness. That is, Chinese characters as a meaning character has the advantage of making it understandable and meaningful as soon as they are seen. Second advantage is compression ability. It has systematic understanding that makes it possible to remember and store a conception and meaning as a compressed file. This is the foundation of systematic memory unit. Third one is specialization ability. It has the merit of observing, classifying, categorizing, subdividing, and elaborating a conception and real world in detail. This becomes a basis of analytical thinking. Fourth one is cohesiveness ability. It means the expansion of synthetic thinking through linguistic organization. Fifth one is application ability. It provides flexibility, which is a basis of reasoning and divergent thought. Sixth is leading language ability. It forms and operates a meaning system by aiming at symbolic thought and forming frame of standard for judgement. What humane scholars should do is using Chinese characters as a means of including the Eastern humane ethos.
On the other hand, its characters can be considered as the center of thoght function regarded that MEET, an admission aptitude test for the graduate school of medicine consists of various materials such as humane, social, scientific, technological, literate, artistic fields to measure problem-solving ability and thinking power. In addition, it is applied to PSAT, the subject of examination for administration, foreign affairs, and legislation. Furthermore, it coincides with the necessity of standardized system which can verify the results of liberal education. Likewise, the application and mission of humane studies are enormous considered that humane studies is not only a basis of basic and integrated thought but playing a practical role in education market.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

인문학이 인간 자신, 인간과 인간, 인간과 여타의 세계 사이의 관계를 해명하려는 학문이라면, 인간의 자기표현, 의사전달, 세계이해의 도구적 기초인 언어의 본질과 기능에 대한 연구는 인문학의 핵심적인 과제가 아닐 수 없다. 지식기반사회의 지식은 생활 경험 속에서 획득되고 작용하는 통합적⋅실용적⋅절차적⋅상대적⋅실제적 지식이라 할 수 있다. 통합적 지식은 학문 사이의 경계를 허물고 지식 간의 결합을 추구할 때 생성된다. 교육과정에서 통합은 지식의 형식 또는 지식의 구조가 교과내용 선정의 정당화 기준이 되고 그 조직 면에서 교육내용들이 다른 내용들과 맺는 논리적 관련이 중심이 된다.
그런 점에서 사고력한자는 저학년교육시장의 중요한 콘텐츠가 된다. 사고력향상에 기여할 수 있는 한자의 장점을 정리해 보면, 1) 직속력(直速力)이다. 의미글자인 한자는 보는 즉시 이해되고 직관적으로 의미화되는 장점이 있다. 2) 압축력(壓縮力)이다. 개념과 의미를 압축화일로 기억하고 저장할 수 있는 체계적 이해력이 있으며, 이는 체계적 기억장치의 기초가 된다. 3) 분화력(分化力)이다. 개념과 현실세계를 세밀하게 관찰, 분류하여 범주화하고 세분하고 정교화하는데 장점이 있다. 이는 분석적 사고의 근거가 된다. 4) 결합력(結合力)이다. 언어의 구성력을 통한 종합적 사고력의 확대이다. 5) 적용력(適用力)으로 추론적사고와 발산적 사고의 기본이 되는 융통성을 제공한다. 6) 통어력(統語力)이다. 상징적 사고를 지향하고 내적으로는 판단의 준거틀을 형성함으로써 의미시스템을 구성하고 운용한다. 동양 인문학자들이 할 일은 한자를 사용하지만 그것을 그릇(수단)으로 삼아 동양의 인문정신을 담아내는데 있다.
한편 의학전문대학원 입학적성시험인 MEET의 다수를 차지하는 문제들이 인문, 사회, 과학, 기술, 문학, 예술 분야 등 다양한 소재에서 문제 해결력과 사고력을 측정하도록 구성되어 있다는 점에서 여전히 ‘사고기능중심’으로도 그 성격을 규정할 수 있다. 또한 PSAT(Public Service Aptitude Test: 공직 적격성 시험)라고 하는 행정/외무/입법고시과목에도 적용되어 오고 있다. 나아가 글로벌한 성취도 평가인 ‘PISA’, ‘비판적 사고능력’이 함께 손을 잡고, 고등교육의 성과를 검증할 수 있는 표준제도의 필요성과 맞물린다. 이같이 인문학이 기초적이고 통합적 사고의 기본일 뿐 아니라 교육시장에 실용적인 역할을 한다고 볼 때 그 시대적 활용과 사명은 지대하다고 하겠다.
