Going into the turning point to 21 century, it is obvious that automobile has been the most useful necessity in modern people life if we saw the increasing production volume of domestic makers and heard the issue of modern people's talking. Furthermore, because automobile has taken the important role of economic growth with the export volume and steadily expanding volume of domestic sales, the potential of new model design with the development of technology and the evolution of shape and style, color with originality should be considered seriously. Automobile design is not only create shape of car and layout the package but also include what we see on the skin of the car with its attractive body color. Specially the importance of body color has been emphasized recently as it is said "design in color" instead of "color in design".
During last several years, designers expected that something would happen in the body color of automobile. The movement in color has been shown up through motor shows at different places over the world and student works. This new tendency is appearing in advanced design(such as Ford "Ka" and Citroen "Xanae", Peugoet "Ion" etc) and some student models but the color evolution of production model came slowly. If we see another area around car industry like fashion and cosmetic, mass communication, architecture, the shift of aspect is moving very fast. Especially the color of fashion is now building new identity related to the taste of product and the human life style.

There has been a certain rule in automobile body color until now. It has pursuited the proper beauty for bodystyle which reflected the social status of user. But new idea of vslue changes habit to build new consumer generation according to the development of education and culture, art, environmentics, psycologics. Because they wanted to understand deeply and say their opinion about the product which they selected for their life, the style has already changed freely not only in fashion but also in car design.
These phenomena came from the change of wide range of area and color started to
have mysterious meaning over color material expression. Color have a attractiveness which a amateur's eye cannot analyze and bring the increasing cultural message of high society's value. This means color.
On this study, based on the study about the history of car body color and the change of the environment around automobile industry, I investigated latest unveiled model and concept carts at motor shows, works done by students and analyzed, rearranged attractive futuristic color and composition in the trend of body color. Because these study can help us foresee the way to go in the body color of automobile in multi character society at 21 century, I purpose to suggest the effective direction on the design and development of body color for each makers and related institutions.
