포스트휴먼시대 인간과 함께 하는(함께 하지 않는) 무용: 점유되지 않은 기억, Hsiao Ho-wen 자동화 인형 프로젝트: 리위안의 새로운 상상 = Dancing with(out) Humans in the Posthuman Age: From Emptied Memories to New Vision Liyuan: Hsiao Ho-wen Automated Marionette Project

In recent years, creative partnership between technology and the performing arts has been on the rise. In relation, theorists such as Donna Haraway(1985), Katherine N. Hayles (1999) and Rosi Braidotti(2013) have discussed the impact of cyborgs, robots, and virtual bodies to the humans in our contemporary society.
This paper aims to discuss two examples from Taiwan involving dance and technology, namely New Vision Liyuan: Hsiao Ho-wen Automated Marionette Project(2011~2014) produced by Etatlab and Emptied Memories by Very Mainstream Studio(2012). The former is an interdisciplinary experiment between traditional Liyuan opera from southern China and computer operated life-size robot-marionette; while the latter is a collaboration between theatre/film director Chou Tung-yen with choreographer/dancer Chou Shu-yi in the use of real and projected dancing figures on stage.
Through a comparative analysis of how these two works incorporate dance and technology in different aspects, I discuss ways of human and non-human interaction on stage, as well as the different experiences with which audiences can engage.
