무역원활화 수준이 한국 수입에 미치는 영향 = Trade Facilitation Levels on South Korea’s Imports

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 2010년부터 2019년까지의 기간 동안 경제협력개발기구회원국의 무역원활화를 중력 모형으로 측정하여, 무역원활화가 한국 수입에 미치는 영향을 분석을 통해 살펴보는 것이다. 우선 무역원활화 측정 지표 4가지(인프라, 세관 환경, 규제 환경, 전자 상거래)를 선정하고, 주성분분석을 이용하여 38개국의 무역원활화 점수를 구한 후, 6개의 설명변수(무역원활화 수준, 수입량, 총 인구수, 1인당 국내총생산, 지리적 거리, 외국인직접투자 수준, 아시아태평양경제협력체 체결 여부로 중력 모형을 구축하며 최소자승법로 회귀 분석을 실시하였다.
분석 결과 부(-)의 영향을 보여준 지리적 거리 이외에 무역원활화 수준이 한국 수입에 가장 큰 영향을 미쳤고, 나머지 설명변수들은 정(+)의 영향을 보여주었다. 또한 무역원활화 지수를 독립변수로 설정하여 회귀 분석을 하였는데, 4가지 지표 중 세관환경이 한국 수입에 가장 큰 영향을 미친다는 것을 보여주었다.
경제협력개발기구 회원국 내 한국의 무역원활화에 대한 연구는 상대적으로 많이 이루어지지 않았고, 선행연구에서 주로 사용된 무역원활화 측정 지표 4가지에 외국인직접 투자 수준을 추가 설명변수를 넣어 수입에 미치는 영향 분석을 실시하였기 때문에 체계성과 차별성을 두었다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to measure OECD member countries’ trade facilitation from 2010 to 2019 using a gravity model and examine the effect of the trade facilitation on South Korea’s imports through analysis. First, four trade facilitation measurement indicators were selected, trade facilita-tion scores for 38 countries were obtained using principal component analysis, a  gravity model was constructed with seven explanatory variables. Panel data from a total of 35 countries, excluding the Czech Republic and Iceland, were selected, tested using the STATA 17.0 statistical program, and then subjected to ordinary least squares regression analysis. According to the results of the empirical analysis, in addition to geographical distance, which showed a negative(-) effect, trade facilitation levels had the greatest effects on South Korea’s imports, and the remaining explanatory variables showed positive(+) effects. In addition, a regression analysis was conducted with the trade facilitation index set as an independent variable, and it was shown that among the four indicators, Customs Environment had the greatest effect  on South Korea’s imports.
Relatively few studies have been conducted on South Korea’s trade facilitation within OECD member countries, and this study relatively has systematicity and originality because it added foreign direct investment stock as an explanatory variable to the four trade facilitation measurement indicators mainly used in previous studies to analyze the effects on imports.
