The methods of distinguishing the dance-gifted students vary among the schools by their educational method. With the data it offers, this study will contribute to form a standardized or universally valid method of selecting the dance-gifted. In order to achieve the goal of my study, I interviewed about thirty experts in dance These experts consist of teachers, performers, and critics of dance and I interviewed them questioning their definitions of the dance-gif contents of the dance-giftedness, proper age-range to be distinguished as the dance-gifted For the question of the criteria of selecting the gifted, the interviewees enumerate the ability to connect movement with music, sense of movement, movement-interpretation ability, physical condition nusical sensibility, expressiveness, technique, creativeness, and acting-ability. As for distinction among the style, the experts answer that the dance-gifted should separately be selected by their talent for each different genre or style of dance and that children ranging from six to seven in their age are proper to be distinguished as the gifted. Because of the aesthetic characteristics of dance as art, the judgment of the dance-giftedness tends to depend on each individual`s opinion Therefore, a systematic and universally valid method to distinguish the gifted is required for objective selection of the dance-gifted. My study thu1 serve as the first step approaching a scientific process of the selection of the dance-gifted.
