신도시 공간 이미지 인지에 관한 분석 = 분당 신도시 5개 생활권 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

역사적 배경이 부족한 신도시의 이미지를 형성하는 데 있어 물리적 공간요소가 매우 중요할 것이다. 이 연구에서는 대표적 신도시인, 분당 신도시 전체의 이미지와 평가를 살펴보고, 각 생활권별로 도시 공간의 구분 정도를 조사하여, 도시 공간의 명료성(legibility)을 측정하였다. 분당 신도시는‘신도시’,‘ 계획도시’란 이미지가 가장 크며, 긍정적 이미지로는‘살기 좋은 쾌적한 주거환경’의 이미지를 갖고 있다.‘ 위성도시’나‘부자’,‘ 부동산’등은 부정적 이미지로 작용하고 있다.‘ 신도시’라는 이미지 이외에는 지역적 특색이 있는 이미지를 갖지 못한 것으로 나타났다. 개방형 질문에서 분당의 가장 대표적인 공간은‘AK플라자’를 중심으로 한‘서현역’부근이라고 나타났다. 사진을 이용한 이미지 구분에 있어서도 중심상업지역이 가장 높게 나타났고, 주거지에 대한 인지는 낮게 나타났다. 중심상업지역과 같은 분당 전체를 대상으로 하는 지역은 어느 정도 장소성을 형성하지만, 주거지역에서 공간의 명료성은 매우 낮으며, 생활권별 이미지는 무차별한 것으로 나타났다. 향후 신도시설계에 있어서 장소성을 제공해 줄 수 있는 도시설계와 다양한 형태의 주거단지 설계 및 차별화된 생활권 설계가 필요할 것이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

As there are not enough social and cultural resource in a new town, the physical structure of the new town is important to make the image of the new town. This research investigated and evaluated the whole image of Bundang New Town and measured the legibility of urbanscape. The major image of Bundang New Town was the ‘planned city’ and the representative place was around ‘Seohyeon Station’ include ‘AKplaza Department’. Many residents of Bundang New Town recognized the city centers easily but a little of them identified the residence district of their own community. Especially, at the apartment complex, the respondents showed low urbanscape cognition. For the next new town developments, the urban design should provide more sense of place, the residence districts with unique design and the community identity.
