      다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

      The demand of traffic information services have dramatically increased since personal nomadic device and internet became popular last decade. Especially the popularization of smart phone has triggered the demand of customized traffic information, which invigorates the business of traffic information contents in private sector. As traffic information is in the category of public information resource, systematic strategy is required to increase the added value of traffic information through the analysis of traffic information business and review of practical use of public information in other sectors.
      To increase the added value of traffic information, information charging may be one of the alternatives because it is provided at unreasonably low price or free of charge. On the basis of high qualified and accurate traffic information, new service contents should be developed and expansion of charging users could be possible.
      In this study, the charging of traffic information was discussed, drew the potential service contents, and reviewed the strengths and weaknesses of business models. The potential charging services developed in categories; gentrification of current service, utilization of reserved information, and newly constructed ITS system. The main potential user of charging information could be private business operators and personals who demand customized traffic information. Therefore, optimal business model for charging traffic information in Seoul was developed in form of G2B (Government to Business) and a method of selecting operators was suggested by types of charging service characteristics.
