윤대녕 소설에 보이는 재생 신화 모티브 분석 : 『옛날 영화를 보러갔다』를 중심으로 = An analysis of Rebirth-myth Motive in Yoon Daenyung's novel

The purpose of this study is to analize the way how the traditional mythical motive of rebirth was used in Yoon daenyung's novel - ＜I Went to see an Old Movie＞. This novel seemed to be very difficult to understand in ordinary sense, but we can learn that it is a variation of Rebirth myth. 'The Another Man' hero never knows who he is is his Doppleganger and the hero should recognize him as a substance of himself. The hero also experiences Inner Rebirth by virtue of Yoojin who changed a silkworm and became a butterfly. This experience is not the death of his past and present but Rebirth of his life. In some respect we are all little Jesus who ought to die once in inner Jordan river and get a new life of our own. Yoon's novel shows its process and the anguish we should face.
