The objective of this research is to closely examine the relationship between university students' participation in domestic sports and satisfaction levels of leisure and life. This basic proposition is that satisfaction caused by participating is sport for all of the university can affect affirmatively to social life as well as school life.
In order to achieve such an objective, the following factors will be closely examined. Firstly, the difference between the participation in domestic sports and the satisfaction levels of leisure and life is to be discussed according to the demographic characteristics. Secondly, the difference between the satisfaction levels of leisure and life is to be discussed according to the participation level of university students in domestic sports.
According to that, this research focuses mainly on teams formed by male and female undergraduates from three of the four-year universities located in Andong-city, Kyongsang-Bukdo. Using a method of stratified sampling ,a total of 150 students, selecting 50 students from each of the three universities, have been selected as sample groups for those who participate in sports-related clubs and domestic physical programs. Also, a total of 150 students, with the same method of selection as before, have been selected as sample groups for those who do not participate in domestic sports. As a result, a total of 300 students have been selected as sample groups.
The instruments of gathering information for this research include the leisure satisfaction scale(LSS) developed by Beard and Ragheb(1980) and adapted by Lee, Jong-kil(1992), as well as the satisfaction with life scale(SWLS) developed by Diener, Emmonson, Larsenand Griffin(1985) and adapted by Lee, Jong-kil(1992). The levels of confidence and propriety for this research have been verified by questionnaires prepared by the instruments. The level of confidence for the questionnaires has shown a result of Cronbach α = .689..894, regarded as being extremely high.
Methods of correlation, multiple recurrent analysis, one-way ANOVA and t-test have been used with SPSS Windows 10.0 Version, in order to investigate the relationship between university students' participation in domestic sports and satisfaction levels of leisure and life. For the post-examination, a method of Duncan test has been used at a significant level of 5%. The following results have been obtained from the analysis of gathered information according to the objective of this research.
Firstly, among the special demographic factors of university students who participate in domestic sports, there are significant differences for the satisfaction levels among grades, health levels and genders.
However, there is no significant difference between household profits, credits.
Secondly, among the special demographic factors of university students who participate in domestic sports, there is a significant difference between genders and health levels. However, there are no significant differences among genders, grades, household profits ,credits and grades.
Thirdly, the university students who participate in domestic sports show high levels of leisure satisfaction, compared to those who do not.
Fourthly, the university students who participate in domestic sports show high levels of life satisfaction, compared to those who do not.
