This research is to know how physical education program for preschool children affects their physical growth&development. This research compares 47 children of P kindergaten in Songpa-Gu with 30 children of H kindergarten in Dobong-Gu, Seoul. The former one is having PE class. The latter is not having PE class. I measured height and weight for physique and explosive muscular endurance, agility, pliability, balance, and muscular endurance for fitness. From this comparative study, I had following results.
1) Before and after physical education program, there are intent differences of both for boys and girls. Boys have contrast of (P<.001) for height and weight in physique. Girls have contrast of (P <.001) for height and (P <.01) for weight in physique. (P <.001) for explosive muscular strength and (P <.01) for muscular endurance in fitness.
2) Before and after physical education program, boys have contrasts of (P <.001) for explosive muscular endurance and(P <.01) for muscular endurance in fitness. Girls have contrast of (P <.001) for muscular endurance as well as explosive muscular strength.
3) The group with and without physical education program have no intent difference in physique. In fitness, however, there are intent differences in agility, explosive muscular strength ,and balancing of (P <05). Furthermore, muscular endurance of (P <.001) and flexibility of (P <.0l).
