가정위탁 양육관련 변인에 따른 위탁유지 = The Foster Care Retention of Foster Parents in Accordance with Foster Family Related Variables

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to provide fundamental data for supporting foster families by investigating the influence of foster family-related variables on foster parents’ willingness to maintain foster care. The subjects of the survey were 109 foster parents, 99 of whom were included in the final analysis. The results of the research were as follows: Among foster parents’ individual and foster family characteristics, and family and social support factors, foster parents’ willingness to maintain foster care tends to be strong when the foster parents have personal religious beliefs, have no previous foster care experience, are grandparents of foster children, have family support, and are not satisfied with a rearing subsidy. However, no relevant variables were found among the characteristics of the foster children.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

최근 들어 우리사회에서 가정위탁양육과 관련하여 중요한 이슈로 떠오르는 문제들 중 하나가 위탁양육에서의 중도해지 또는 위탁유지의 문제이다. 위탁양육 유지 여부는 가정위탁 보호 서비스의 성패에 적지 않은 영향을 미치게 된다.
이에 본 연구는 위탁양육 유지와 관련있는 변인들에 따른 위탁부모의 위탁 양육유지 의사를 살펴봄으로서 위탁가정지원 시 고려해야 할 기초자료 제공에 그 목적이 있다.
설문조사는 109명의 위탁부모를 대상으로 하였고 최종 분석에는 99부가 사용되었다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다.
위탁부모의 위탁 양육유지 의사는 위탁부모 개인 및 위탁가정 개별특성이나 위탁가정의 가족 및 사회적 지지변인에 따라서는 위탁부모가 종교생활을 하는 경우에서 그리고 이전의 위탁경험이 없는 경우에서, 아동의 조부모인 경우에서 그리고 가족이 협조적일 때, 현재 지급받고 있는 양육보조금에 불만족하는 경우에서 더 많은 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 위탁아동특성 제 변인에 따라서는 유의미하게 차이 있는 결과가 나타나지 않았다.
이상의 결과를 통하여 볼 때 위탁부모로 하여금 위탁양육 유지를 결정하게 하는 데 영향을 미치는 것은 위탁아동 요인보다는 오히려 위탁부모 개인 및 위탁가정 개별특성이나 위탁가정의 가족 및 사회적 지지가 더 큰 영향을 미치고 있음을 확인하였다.
이는 가정위탁실천 현장에서 위탁아동 배치, 위탁가정과 위탁부모지원 시 고려해야 할 기초자료 제공에 그 함의가 있다.
