일반학교 특수학급 기반의 체육교과 및 스포츠 활동에 관한 주제범위 문헌고찰

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 국내 일반학교 특수학급을 기반으로 이루어진 체육교과 및 스포츠 활동 관련 연구의 동향과 주제를 파악하고, 향후 연구와 정책·실천을 위한 시사점을 도출하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 주제범위 문헌고찰 방법을 적용하여, 국내 주요 데이터베이스에서 일반학교 특수학급에 배치된 학생을 대상으로 한 체육 및 스포츠 활동 문헌을 체계적으로 검색·분석하였다. 동료평가를 거친 학술지 논문과 학위 논문을 중심으로 선정·배제 기준을 적용한 결과, 2003년부터 2024년까지 총 17편의 문헌이 최종 고찰 대상에 포함되었다. 문헌고찰 결과, 연구 동향은 시대적으로 당위성 확인기, 운영 사례 제안을 통한 가능성 탐색기, 교사 중심의 성찰과 제안의 세 시기로 구분할 수 있었다. 연구 주제는 특수학급 기반 체육교과 운영, 특수학급 교육과정 기반 체육수업 중재, 특수학급 방과후활동 체육의 세 범주로 범주화되었다. 주요 연구 결과로, 특수학급 체육교과 연구는 장기간에 걸쳐 소수의 연구가 산발적으로 보고되어 학문적 관심이 미흡한 것으로 나타났다. 특히 초등학교 특수학급 체육에 대한 연구가 부족하였고, 교육과정 구성, 수업 설계, 평가 방법 등 실질적 운영에 대한 연구가 부재하였다. 본 연구는 통합체육 중심의 논의에서 상대적으로 소외되어 온 특수학급 체육교과의 독자적 가치와 통합체육과의 상호보완적 관계를 조명하였고, 연구 결과를 바탕으로 후속 연구와 제도적 지원 강화의 필요성을 제언하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was to identify research trends and key themes related to physical education and sports activities provided in special classes within general schools in South Korea and to derive implications for future research, policy, and practice. To achieve this, a scoping review methodology was employed to systematically search and analyze studies on physical education and sports activities for students placed in special classes in general schools, using major Korean academic databases. Using predefined inclusion and exclusion criteria, a total of 17 studies published between 2003 and 2024 were included. The reviewed literature revealed three phases in the literature: an initial phase of establishing the rationale for special class physical education, a phase of exploring its potential through intervention and implementation studies, and a more recent phase characterized by teacher-centered reflections and recommendations. Research topics fell into three areas: (1) implementation of the PE curriculum in special classes, (2) curriculum-based intervention studies on physical education lessons in special classes, and (3) physical education in after-school programs for special classes. The findings indicated that PE in special classes in general schools has received limited academic attention, with only a small number of studies published intermittently over a long period. In particular, research on elementary school special classes and on practical aspects such as curriculum structure, lesson design, and assessment methods was particularly limited. This review highlights the unique educational value of special -class physical education, which has been relatively neglected in discussions centered on inclusive physical education, and underscores its complementary relationship with inclusive physical education. Finally, it proposes the need for further research and strengthened institutional support based on these findings.
