가족관계 측정을 위한 척도 개발 연구 = Study on Development of the Family Relationship Scale

This study is about the development of a family relationship scale. The scales is to measure the degree of the family member`s interaction and relationship as a unit. Currently, most of the scales used for research are the translated ones without systematic analysis for validity or reliability. Thus, this study extracted the items from previous research findings, the scales, and the indices, and examined the validity through explorative factor analysis and then confirmatory factor analysis. The analyses were consisted three phases: one is to develop a pre-scale; two is to examine the pre-scale and finalize a model scale; and three is to confirm the final model scale as a valid scale. The scale of 24 items was constructed with three dimensions with high reliability coefficient of 0.9305. The first dimension is `love and care` with 11 items; the second is `recognition and responsibility` with 7 items; and the third is `acceptance and respect` with 6 items. All the analyses revealed that the structure of the model scale was fit and valid with high significance level. Thus, the Family Relationship Scale developed in this study was proved valid and reliable to measure a healthy and functioning family relationship varying through social changes.
