The distribution and correlation of physicochemical constituents were investigated in the surface water, bottom water and mud which were collected from 15 sites among 6 areas on the lower Han River.
Strong correlation (r□0.79) was found to conform each other between the values of K, Na, Cl and conductivity in this water, and also (r□0.71) between the values of Fe, Mn and Cu in his mud.
On the contray, the value of Dissolved Oxygen was inversely (r=-0.78) correlated with Total Alkalinity. The concentration of heavy metals lowered in the order of Fe, Mn, Cu, Cd in this water and mud, and judging from regional groups it lowered in the order of An Yang stream, Seong San big bridge, Haeng Ju Oe Ri, Haeng Ju Nae Ri, Chang Neung stream.
The value of heavy metals in the mud was higher because construction of Seong San big bridge had been in process. Distribution of physicochemical constituents was influenced mainly by the mud and wastewater of tributaries, but water quality was suitable (SAR□6.6) for agriculture's purpose. Especially the pollution of the water and mud in An Yang stream was higher by wastewater folwing from Young Deung Po and in 15 site on Chang Neung stream was higher owing to a mixture of foul water and wastewater.
