교량의 미관평가 = Aesthetic Evaluation of Bridges

국문 초록 (Abstract)

미관 또는 미학은 주로 인문과학, 예술에 속하며 현대의 공학적 이론과는 다소 거리가 멀다. 따라서, 대부분의 구조기술자들은 미관 또는 미학에 대한 중요성을 아직도 인식하지 못하고 있다. 다행인 것은 개인별 차이는 있지만 미관에 대해서 어느 정도 이해하고 있거나 관심을 갖는 구조기술자들이 늘고 있다는 사실이다. 그러나, 체계적인 미학이나 예술성의 추구는 아직 부족한 실정이며 교량설계에 접목시키는 작업은 아직도 미흡한 실정이다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Aethetics, being s subject belonging to philosophy and the arts, differs essentially from the disciplines that constitute modern engineering. It follows that an understanding of aethetics and its importance does not come naturally to all engineers. Fortunately, there are those who, because of their personal and scholastic backgrounds-through the influence of parents, friends or theachers-acquire an appreciation of art at an early ages. Generally, however, engineers develop a predominantly logical approach to design with an emphasis on functional aspects and without an adequate intutive sensibility and judgement that are essential of the aesthetic qualities of their work.
