The number of people who participate in camping is increasing. In this study, 174 items of 11 types of camping cookware and tableware purchased in offline stores and online in 2023 in Seoul were investigated to determine their elution characteristics. There were 85 metal stainless steel, 37 aluminum, 5 titanium, and 4 fluorine resin items and 43 polypropylene items composed of synthetic resin. Domestic and imported products accounted for the largest number of items (45 and 129, respectively), followed by China (121). Additionally, 103 items were obtained online and offline for distribution channel analysis. Among the online products, 33 items were directly imported from overseas. The average elution (elution range) of lead from items composed of metal was 0.001 (ND-0.005) mg/L, cadmium was 0.000 (ND- 0.001) mg/L, arsenic was 0.000 (ND-0.017) mg/L, nickel was 0.014 (ND-0.0161) mg/L, and hexavalent chromium was 0.000 (ND-0.010). The average elution (elution range) of lead in synthetic resin was 0.000 (ND-0.004) mg/L and cadmium was 0.001 (ND-0.001) mg/L. No samples contained arsenic and the average elution (elution range) of nickel was 0.001 (ND-0.012) mg/L. Except for nickel which exceeded the reference value in one case of metal (aluminum) obtained from overseas as a direct purchase product, all samples showed values within the reference range, and most were considered as safe.
