사회적 구성주의 관점에서 발달장애 자녀를 둔 어머니의 학습경험 = Learning Experiences of Mothers Raising Children with Developmental Disabilities: A Social Constructivist Perspective

국문 초록 (Abstract)

연구배경 : 본 연구는 장애인을 돌보는 일이 한국 사회에서 어떠한 사회적, 문화적 맥락 속에서 수행되고 있는지를 조명하고자 출발하였다. 특히, 발달장애 자녀를 둔 어머니들이 자녀의 사회적응 을 지원하기 위해 다양한 학습을 시도하면서 자기 성찰과 분석의 기회를 갖는 과정을 중심으로 탐 색하였다.
연구목적 : 발달장애 자녀를 둔 어머니가 자녀 양육 과정에서 어떠한 방식으로 지식과 경험을 형성하고, 그 과정에서 학습이 어떻게 이루어지는지를 사회적 구성주의 관점에서 탐색하는 데 목 적이 있다.
연구방법 : 발달장애 자녀를 양육하는 어머니 5명을 연구참여자로 선정하여, 질적 연구 중 현상 학적 방법을 적용해 심층 면담을 통해 자료를 수집하고 분석하였다.
연구결과 : 발달장애 자녀를 둔 어머니들은 또래 부모, 전문가, 지역사회 구성원들과의 사회적 상호작용을 통해 학습하면서 내적 성장을 이루고, 새로운 양육 전략을 형성하였다.
시사점 : 본 연구는 발달장애 자녀를 둔 부모 교육 및 지원 시스템이 단순한 정보 제공을 넘어, 협력적이고 실천적인 방향으로 설계되어야 함을 시사한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Background : This study begins with the question of how the care of individuals with disabilities is situated within the socio-cultural context of Korean society. It specifically focuses on mothers of children with developmental disabilities who engage in various learning activities to support their children's social adaptation, thereby gaining opportunities for self-reflection and personal insight.
Purpose : The purpose of this study is to explore, from a social constructivist perspective, how mothers of children with developmental disabilities construct knowledge and experience throughout the parenting process and how learning emerges in this context.
Methodology / Approach : A phenomenological qualitative research method was employed, involving in-depth interviews with five mothers raising children with developmental disabilities. The collected data were analyzed to uncover the essential meanings of their learning experiences.
Findings / Conclusions : The participating mothers developed internal growth and acquired new parenting strategies through continuous social interactions with peer parents, professionals, and community members.
Implications : This study suggests that parent education and support systems for families of children with developmental disabilities should move beyond the provision of information and be designed in more collaborative and practice-oriented ways.
