평생교육적 관점에서 공익 코칭 활동가의 자원봉사 의미탐색 = Exploring the meaning of volunteer work by public interest coaching activists from a lifelong education perspective

국문 초록 (Abstract)

연구배경 : 급변하는 사회변화 속에서 심화하는 사회적 취약 계층의 불안과 단절 문제는 평생 교육의 적극적 개입을 요구하고 있다. 본 연구는 사회적 지지체계의 일환으로서 공익 코칭 활동가 의 자원봉사 경험에 주목하였으나, 이에 대한 연구가 미비한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 평생교육 의 실천적 방향성 정립에 연구의 필요성을 둔다.
연구목적 : 본 연구는 평생 교육적 관점에서 공익 코칭 활동가의 자원봉사 의미를 전환학습 이 론을 분석의 틀로 적용하여 질적연구방법으로 다음과 같은 연구 문제를 선정하였다. 첫째, 공익 코 칭 활동가에게 전환의 계기가 된 경험은 무엇인가? 둘째, 공익 코칭 활동 중에 어떠한 비판적 성 찰을 하였는가? 셋째, 공익 코칭 활동을 중에 어떠한 이성적 담론을 하였는가? 넷째, 공익 코칭 활 동을 통해 삶의 전환 행동을 경험하였는가? 이다.
연구방법 : 공익 코칭 활동가의 자원봉사 경력 6년 이상인 전문 코치 7명을 연구 참여자로 선 정하였고, 심층 면담으로 자료수집을 하였고, 질적연구방법으로 전환학습의 분석 틀로 활용하였다.
연구결과 : ‘변화의 촉발 및 내적 성찰’ ‘가치관 재정립 및 지지기반 형성’ ‘역량 강화 및 새로운 역할 모색’ ‘삶의 변화와 성장’의 4개 주제군을 확정하였다. 공익 코칭 활동가들의 자원봉사 경험은 평생 교육적 가치에 대한 인식을 새롭게 조명하였고, 이는 사회적 관계망 강화를 위한 평생교육 실천 방안으로 자원봉사의 가능성을 보여준다.
시사점 : 이러한 연구를 통해 공익 코칭 활동가의 자원봉사 경험이 단순한 사회참여를 넘어 개 인의 성장과 학습을 촉진하며 평생 교육적 관점에서 자원봉사활동 프로그램 연구의 기초자료를 제 공하며, 자원봉사 활성화를 위한 실천적 방안 모색에 시사점을 가진다..

Background : With rapid societal changes intensifying vulnerability, lifelong education is crucial. This study addresses the lack of research on public interest coaching activists' volunteer experiences to establish practical directions for lifelong education.
Purpose : Framed by transformative learning theory, this qualitative study explores the meaning of volunteer work for public interest coaching activists. It examines their transformative experiences, critical reflections, rational discourses, and life transformation behaviors through their activities.
Methodology / Approach : This study collected data through in-depth interviews with seven public interest coaching activists with more than six years of experience, and analyzed the data using transformative learning theory, a qualitative research method.
Findings / Conclusions : This study identified four key themes in the volunteer experiences of public interest coaching activists: 'Triggering change and internal reflection,' 'Reestablishing values and forming a support base,' 'Strengthening capabilities and seeking new roles,' and 'Change and growth in life.' These findings highlight the lifelong educational value of volunteering, demonstrating its potential as a practice for strengthening social networks.
Implications : This study reveals that public interest coaching activists' volunteer experiences foster personal growth and learning beyond mere social participation. It provides foundational data for lifelong education-focused volunteer programs and offers practical insights for volunteerism activation.
