      As the number of Internet users increases rapidly in recent, the concern on the necessity of IP traffic security is also increasing while cracking and computer viruses through the networks continues to damage computer systems. IPSec is emerging in recent as a general information security technology, considering flexible security management as well as protecting applications on computers and whole networks.
      In ter paper, we implement the ESP(Encapsulating Security Payload) module of the IPSec supporting integrity, authentication and confidentiality of IP packets. In the designed ESP, we implement SEED, the domestic encryption standard, to provide confidential security service, and use HMAC-MD5 to support authentication and integrity service on IP data. The ESP module is modeled in VHDL, simulated, and synthesized using Synopsys tools.
