신채호 소설에 나타난 미완의 여성 영웅들 = The Unfinished Female Heroes in Shin Chae-ho's Novel

국문 초록 (Abstract)

신채호의 소설 가운데 여성 영웅이 등장하는 작품 3편이 있는데, 모두 여성 영웅의 본격적인 활약상이나 정체성이 드러나기 이전에 중단되었다. 작가는 󰡔조선상고사󰡕에서 고구려와 백제의 건국에 참여했던 소서노를 극찬했지만, 자기 소설에 소서노를 직접 등장시키진 않았다. 신채호는 민족주의와 아나키즘을 넘나들며 영웅을 기다렸지만, 시대상 탓에 그것은 폭력성을 포함할 수밖에 없었다. 그는 <꿈하늘>을 통해 영토와 언어, 사상이 모두 고유하게 회복된 민족주의의 이상을 꿈꾸었지만, 그것을 실현한 <일목대왕의 철퇴>는 재목처럼 폭력이 지배하는 세상이었다. 민중 영웅인 <일이승>의 홍경래 역시 충동적이며 폭력적이었다. 여성 영웅들은 이러한 문제점을 극복할 대안의 속성을 갖추었다. 우선 일목대왕의 왕후 강씨는 상대방의 공감을 얻어가며 설득할 수 있는 언어의 힘(계집의 말)을 지녔다. 그런가하면 <백세 로승의 미인담>의 엽쁜이는 국가에는 신의가 있어야 한다는 원칙을 내세웠으며, <류화전>의 류화는 개가한 여성으로서 어머니의 상징을 키워갔다. 미완성 부분의 주된 내용은 각각 이들의 언어적 재능, 국가관, 어머니의 상징성 등을 중심으로 전개되어 기존 영웅들의 한계에 대한 대안을 갖추어갔으리라 추정한다. 한편 󰡔조선상고사󰡕의 소서노는 아들들로부터 주변 세력과 소통할 수 있는 聖德을 지닌 어머니로 기억되고 있는데, 이는 왕후 강씨가 지닌 설득의 재능과 통한다. 또한 소서노는 주몽과 나라를 세우고 배신당했는데, 이런 경험은 엽쁜이가 비판했던 신의 없는 국가의 모습이었다. 그리고 개가하여 國母가 되는 과정 역시 유화와 소서노에게 공통적이다. 종합하면 미완의 여성 영웅들은 완성형이던 소서노의 특징을 각각 부분적으로 지니고 있으며, 각각의 여성 영웅상이 지닌 대안으로서의 성과와 한계에 주목할 필요가 있다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Among Shin Chae-ho's novels, there are three works that feature female heroes. All were stopped before the full-fledged performance or identity of female heroes was revealed. He praised Soseono, who participated in the founding of Goguryeo and Baekje in the Joseon Sangosa, but he did not directly appear in his novels. Shin Chae-ho waited for the hero across nationalism and anarchism, but due to the times, it was bound to include violence. He dreamed of the ideal of nationalism in which all territory, language, and thoughts were uniquely restored through Dream Sky, but the withdrawal of the great king with one eye was a world dominated by violence like lumber. Hong Kyung-rae, who was a folk hero, was also impulsive and violent. Female heroes were an alternative to overcome these problems. First of all, Queen Kang had the power to persuade by gaining sympathy from the other person. On the other hand, the ugly person in he story of a 100-year-old monk and a beauty advocated the principle that there must be trust in the state. And Ryuhwa of the story of Ryuhwa developed the symbol of her mother as an open woman. The incomplete part would have been centered on their linguistic talent, view of the state, and mother's symbolism. On the other hand, Soseono is remembered by her sons as a mother who was able to communicate with the surrounding forces, which is in line with the Queen Kang's ability to persuade. In addition, Soseono was betrayed by establishing Jumong and the country, and this experience took place in the unfaithful country that Yup Pyo criticized. Oil painting and Soseono also share the process of becoming the mother of the country. In sum, unfinished female heroes partially had the characteristics of Soseono, who was in the perfect form. It is necessary to pay attention to the achievements and limitations of each female hero image as an alternative.
