Recently Korea government considers an export promotion policy for domestic-oriented firms. Using a rare dataset of exporting firms provided by KOTRA (Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency), this paper examines a statistical difference in productivity and employments between export-continuing and export-exiting firms in the period of 2009 to 2012. We find that the productivity and employment levels of export-continuing firms are higher than those of export-exiting firms. This result tells us that Korea government may need to selectively support exporting firms based on their productivity and employment levels for a long-run success in a global market.
