This study aimed to investigate the inhibitory effect of Alismatis rhizoma on MCF-7 breast cancer cells and its underlying mechanisms. MTT and WST-1 assays were conducted to evaluate the growth inhibitory effect of Alismatis rhizoma on MCF-7 cells, and Real-time PCR were used to analyze its impact on relevant proteins and genes. The results showed that Alismatis rhizoma significantly suppressed the growth of MCF-7 cells, and the inhibition effect was positively correlated with dosage and treatment time. Furthermore, Alismatis rhizoma markedly decreased the expression levels of Cyclin D1. Additionally, Alismatis rhizoma inhibited the migration and invasion ability of the cells. In conclusion, Alismatis rhizoma possesses the potential to inhibit the growth of MCF-7 cells, possibly through regulating the cell cycle and suppressing cell migration and invasion.
