일본의 가족 형태에 대한 연구사적 규명

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

There has been a shift between two paradigms (the nuclear-family paradigm and the modern family paradigm) in the sociology of family in Japan after the Second World War. Following the shift in the family system from the stem family to the conjugal family system, it is assumed that there has been a shift in the aspect of the family relationship from patriarchy to an egalitarian model of the family, signifying an egalitarian relationship between wives and husbands and children and parents. The present study investigates why there is a controversy about the modern family paradigm in Japan, with a focus on the concept of the modern family and its methodological limitations. Research questions including what was overlooked in the process of change in these two paradigms, in what process the family system underwent a change, and how there has been a shift from the stem family seeking family succession and continuity to the conjugal family system are investigated and discussed through a literature review.
